Missing malamute
This just arrived via the Net:
<<
On January 18, 2007 my 2 Alaskan Malamutes were stolen from my property in Oyster Bay. On the 19th of January our Male Malamute was picked up by the police on Linden blvd and Elmont road. The person who called them reported they saw 2 dogs running around the area. The female was gone by the time the police arrived. A week later our male was returned to the Hempstead animal shelter were I picked him up yesterday. The female (enclosed) is still missing. Our family is devastated over the dogs disappearance.
The 2 dogs are very expensive show dogs that are kept as pets. To help in the return, I have already rented a helicopter and did a grid search of the north shore of 40 squares miles. That was no help being that they were dumped out of a car in element. That was a great deal of money and air sickness to no avail. At that point I contact some Malamute help centers and they suggested a pet detective. That was thousands of dollars for 3 days… no help being they were in Elmont.
With that being said, I am just about out of savings and ideas. She was last reported seen at linden blvd and Elmont road. My family have called all the shelters, vets and schools in the area. We have posted 100’s of flyers around the neighbor hood. Please help find her. I can take out the last $1,000 from my retirement fund for the reward.
I cant tell you how this is effecting the kids and her brother (the male). No one is sleeping, none is eating. I am stuck because I have no more answers or money. Anything you can do would help.
thanks

Linden Blvd and Elmont Road is one block from my house..I just went out and drove along the Southern State in the area calling her and telling people walking their dogs. I saw a color poster up in Elmont about her..There is a creek that comes up from Brookville Blvd (SOUND FAMILIAR?) which merges into Elmont Road, goes under Linden Blvd and this creek continues a while to the West of Elmont Road, most of that area is fenced. Then there's a huge open fenced area at Elmont Road and Dutch Broadway. I've seen dogs in that area before, I guess they're attracted to the water.
I don't have an operating printer, if someone wants to fax me the flyer Bonnie put up, I can get copies made and post them/ hand them out around the area

Nancy where did Bonnie put up the flyer? The one Mark sent didn't have her picture on it. We need her picture.

Tonight's Psalm is startlingly appropriate...
Psalm 31 (excerpts)
Be gracious to me, LORD, for I am in distress;
with grief my eyes are wasted,
my soul and body spent.
My life is worn out by sorrow,
my years by sighing.
My strength fails in affliction;
my bones are consumed.
But I trust in you, LORD;
I say, "You are my God."
My times are in your hands;
rescue me!"
Let your face shine on your servant;
save me in your kindness.
Do not let me be put to shame,
for I have called to you, LORD.
How great is your goodness, Lord,
stored up for those who fear you.
You display it for those who trust you,
in the sight of all the people.
Blessed be the LORD,
who has shown me wondrous love,
and been for me a city most secure.
Once I said in my anguish,
"I am shut out from your sight."
Yet you heard my plea,
when I cried out to you.
Love the LORD, all you faithful.
Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the LORD.
Father, Take the great horse Barbaro running into to the wind that is You. Lead him into Your pastures. Comfort all who mourn his death, and let them take joy in the courage he showed, and the legacy he left. (Look at all the great things his foundation can do!)
Buoy our hope, and comfort us with a sighting and rescue of Vivi, and now Bailey the malamute. Help us find homes and help for the Afghan hounds who need us. Heal our sick ones, and guard and protect all the lost, and homeless people and animals who are out this winter night.
We lift our prayers in confidence and hope to You (In Jesus' name.)

I just received a call from the Pet Detective i used. He is on his way back up here to find Bailey. It seems that animal Planet has picked up the story and is coming along to do the story on Bailey and Buckley and the pet detective.
I appreciate all who have been helping in the search for her. she is a great pet and companion. i would hate for anything to happen too her.

PS animal planet is paying for the search and reward

Has anyone checked Brooklyn animal control? A friend of mine who works for an animal rescue group in South Queens just told me that there is a beautiful husky-type dog there as of last night. I tried calling the number of Mark Stuzmann, but it has been busy. It may be nothing, but it could be something.

DL Gazza,

If anyone goes out to post flyers for Bailey, Springfield Gardens needs to be done, also Elmont, this was the place of the last sighting, Linden Blvd border of Cambria Hts/Elmont BJ and I did Cambria Hts yesterday. Linden Blvd especially and side blocks. Hempstead Tpke also if anyone is near there. Elmont Animal Hospital is already aware since they are the ones who got the male dog. I called them yesterday to remind them.

DL Gazza if you speak to Mark again, make sure they have an ad in the Queens papers. Maybe the Queens chronicle it covers alot of towns, Newsday Queens edition if it hasn't been done already. We used these for Vivi.

Marty Mouse passed on (actually, I think Martina) Yes, I will write the story out soon..(I'm turning in ,it's been a horrid week.) That night, a man drove by very slowly in his car and saw/heard a lot, and of course gave me the strangest look. If only I could have been a fly on the wall when he told all his friends about the crazy woman. And he also saw me pick up the mouse !
I finally got a picture flyer of Bailey printed out, will get copies done tomorrow

Nancy - New York and all the parks must be a huge place. It has to be to hold the hearts of all the kind people like you and the searchers.
I love animals, but I don't know if I would pick up a mouse. I have gone after our dogs and cats to rescue squirrels, chipmunks, and birds though - so maybe!
