Thumbs down

If you read my column on Monday about how to break up a dog fight, there's one rather indelicate tip that didn't make it in there.

But, thanks to the blogosphere, here it is:

Jeff Kolbjornsen, founder of Elite Animal Trainers of America in Islip Terrace, says the tried-and-true way to break up a dog fight is to stick your thumb into the dog's rectum. Apparently, the surprise factor makes the dog stop and release his victim -- at least momentarily.

ACK!!! That would do it for me!

i know jeff very well - great person who truly loves animals. he's working hard on helping our duke and is helping me try to find the perfect home for a great rottie named lucy.
i met him when i hired elite to train my beasts (3 at that time) and it helped alot. if anyone is curious to see my babies, click on "elite animal trainers of america" above. when the page opens, click on the top (or any of the dogs) to get into the site. click on testimonials on the left - us and the "brooklyn chain gang" are the 5th ones down!! (i'm such a proud mama!!!)
jeff also does some rescue so if anyone can spare a couple of bucks it would help out alot. (i know it seems like money is the thing that's needed...) check out the babies up for adoption - you never know you might fall in love and you can rest assured they'll be well trained if you adopt one from him!!! thanks guys...

Monica - your dogs are adorable. I would be a proud mama, too.

That is funny :)

i'd be surprised if somebody stuck their finger in my rectum, too!!
